I was looking for a budget friendly rifle that did not make me feel like I was settling for a sub quality product. I looked for many months at the Ruger American and several of the Savage Arms packages. After seeing this rifle in the final weeks before my purchase, I decided to go with this rifle and I am glad I did. The action is the same as a Wetherby. And the stock is made by a US company that specializes in aftermarket grips and many other industrial products.
With a small collection of guns and many friends that own guns, I like to tell them I bought a Howa. Most people do not know the name. So it is cool when you shoot a better group with your unknown rifle that you paid less for.
The scope is fairly decent and the optics are quality.

I needed a new hunting rifle and this one caught my eye. It had everything I wanted and was in my price range. The scope is very durable and didn't take long to sight in. It is a little heavy for my taste but it makes up for that with performance. The color is very nice and the texture of the stock has a tacky feel to it so if your hands are wet you are less likely to drop it. it seems like you could beat the heck out of it and it would still be mint. All in all it is a very good rifle and I feel like I won't have to buy another for a very long time.
