Take a brush gun and turn it into an open field gun, this is great. Consistently tight groups at 150-200 yds.

When sighting in my 25 year old Winchester 94 in I was impressed by the accuracy but dismayed by the fact that the gun needed to be modified to function properly. I am having difficulty finding the parts to adapt to this ammunition. Possibly they are available to gunsmiths only? Or maybe they are not available for this particular weapon?

Comments about Hornady LEVERevolution Ammo, 30-30 Winchester:
The name fits, it is definitely an evolution in lever action rounds. They have excellent expansion. I was sighted in with Federal 150G's and had to adjust my elevation almost 8 inches at 100 yards due to the increased velocity and range of the round. This round changed mt marlin 30/30 from a 100-150 yard gun to around a 300 yard gun.

Comments about Hornady LEVERevolution Ammo, 30-30 Winchester:
I use a Marlin 30/30 with Hornady bullets. I shot my buck @ 40 yards and he dropped within 15 feet. My 11 year old son got his buck @ 130 yards and he only ran about 75 yards before he dropped. If you use the Hornady bullets this guns has a much better range and terrific stopping power.

Comments about Hornady LEVERevolution Ammo, 30-30 Winchester:
I've shot deer, coyotes and bobcats with these bullets and had great success. They are a little high, but well worth it. I've always heard a 30-30 wasn't a distance gun, but I shot a buck at 225 yards and dropped him with these bullets.

Comments about Hornady LEVERevolution Ammo, 30-30 Winchester:
Pig Slaying 30-30 ammo
This ammo has made my 30 30 a different weapon. I used to shoot 150gr winchester hollow points. Groups were 1.5inches @ 100yrds with a stray here and their landing within 3.5 inches of center.
Now (with lever evolution) I shoot 1 inch groups @ 100 Yards and no strays. When I made the switch the 160gr were 3 inches high @ 100yards. Before the switch I would have never dreamed of shooting over 150 yards. Now anything within 200 yards is dead. (Shot a coyote @ 212 paces) These bullets shoot faster and flatter than anything I have ever shot out of my 30-30.
Outside 20-25yards these bullets pack a punch. My only con would be inside 25 yards. These bullets explode on impact and don't penetrate well. So inside 25 yards stick to headshots.....

Comments about Hornady LEVERevolution Ammo, 30-30 Winchester:
This is a great round. It is very accurate even out past 100 yards. It also hits with a ton of kick. I'm sure if I changed out my scope to one approriate for 200yards this round out of my Marlin 336 would be accurate at that distance, which is very impressive for a 30/30 round.

Comments about Hornady LEVERevolution Ammo, 30-30 Winchester:
I tried this ammo with a "What the Heck" attitude this year in my pre-64 Winchester '94. First thing is wherever your sights are currently, you WILL have to bring bullet down. I was hitting 8" high at 50 yards at start of sight in (Prev cartidge was a standard flat tip, 130 gn.?).
The Nice thing about this ammo is once the bullet comes down to a cruising path there is very little deviation between 50-100 yds.... a good flat trajectory. This is nice for us brush hunters that seldom make far shots.
The buck I shot this afternoon, never took his second step, nearly did a backflip, and ther is a small entry wound, no exit wound, and no noticeable damage to the meat. All the damage was done in the internal organs. Great new development for our "Old Standby".
