I shoot these from my .45 CVA SS Kodiak Pro with 100gr of 777 pellets and a Leupold VXI 3-9x40. Swab with a BoreButter patch every third shot. At 100yds I have 2-1/4" group, 2" high, consistently. I shot a six point last year with these at 80 yards, bullet passed thru having hit the heart but no bones. I shot a four point this year at 40 yards thru the breast plate. The bullet mushroomed beautifully and passed thru heart and lungs before stopping just under the skin of the abdomen. Perfect! I only wish these were available at more stores like the Powerbelts. But that's the problem with shooting .45 cal. They use an MMP tan sabot, even though they show a black one in the pics. So you can build these yourself with T/C 200gr .50cal Shockwaves and ordering the tan .45 sabots direct from MMP, which I do sometimes.

I used the 50 cal 250 grain version this year for hunting whitetail up in northern minnesota. this bullet was used atop 100 grains of pyrodex pellets in a knight wolverine inline. On paper these bullets perform very well, and on light skinned game not so well. I shot 2 large does both being a broadside shot at about 70 yards. both bullets passed through with very little expansion even after hitting bone. The one bullet hit 2 ribs, one shoulder blade, and a spine, leaving an exit hole that was the same as the entrance. The other was shot through the heart and ran 50 yards with almost no blood sighn at all in the december snow. If I had not had two well placed shots I would have been doin quite a bit of tracking with very little blood to follow. I will be using the hornady xtp next year!

Comments about Hornady .40/.45-Caliber SST-ML™ Sabot Bullet, 20-Pack:
I've been using this bullet ever since i started hunting BP. I've been reading others reveiws on this bullet and alot seem to be pleased and others unhappy. I've shot alot of deer with this bullet and i have to say im very pleased and happy with its performance. i've shot prob 15 to 20 deer from 20yds clear out to 235yds. And all but 2 deer dropped in their tracks. The one at 20yds and the one 235yds. the one at 20yds drop within 30yds and the one at 235yd dropped after about 60 yds which shot was about 8" behind front leg. Both those deer had very clear blood trails. These bullets do get the job done!

Service and delivery comments:
These were at my house two days after I placed the order. I was expecting 3-5 days or more. I thought it was a fluke until I ordered some other gear from G.M. and it arrived just as fast. Great job
