Q:Will this have enough power to kill a coyote at 100yards or less?Asked on 6/19/2010 by Coyote killer from North Dakota
A:maybe.. but .17 doesnt have hardly enough knock down power. if i was shooting coyotes i would use the full metal jacket (fmj by cci)bullets that are 20 grain. (vmax are 17 grain). i would recommend a .223 or a .22-250 for coyotes.Answered on 7/5/2010 by CJ from glenn CA
Q:What is the range of this bullet andwhat rifle would you suggest for this round.Asked on 3/28/2010 by Ken from Burlington, North Carolina
A:I shoot squirrels and i have a savage .17 with the accu-trigger and a world class tasco scope. this rifle is very good it is worth $500 if you want to spend $800+ i would recommend the ruger 77/17 is very good also.. if all you shoot is rabbits, squirrels, etc the 17 grain works very effective up to 150+ yards. I have confirmed kills at 165+ yards with shells like these.Answered on 5/26/2010 by cj from Glenn CA
A:I suggest the Henry Lever Action in .17HMR (either the Golden Boy or the Varmint Express). Each model holds 12 cartridges and the Henry lever action is smooth as silk. Another plus is that lever action rifles are great for left-handed shooters. Oh, and ALL Henry rifles are made in the USA!Answered on 7/6/2013 by Colonel Mike from Alabama
