I changed last season and wished I had changed years ago. So far 4 deer and one went 10 yards the rest dropped like a sack of potatos. I wouldn't be afraid to shoot 200 yards if the shot was there. If you haven't changed you should try them. They are less expensive than most others and they shoot just like the box says. Can't be any better for a slug hunter...

i haven't been able to pattern these slugs at 100 yards or at 46 yards. they seem to be all over the place, once i get close and do a little adjustment, everything is all over the place again... the scope is tight, barrel is clean, must be the slug.

Comments about Hornady 12 & 20 Gauge SST Shotgun Slugs:
I have used these slugs in my Winchester 20 ga. slug gun for the last four years they are by far the best slug on the market. I have shot deer out to 185 yards and dropped them in their tracks. I have shot at least 20 deer in the last 4 years on my farm so I have fired allot of them trust me you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Hornady 12 & 20 Gauge SST Shotgun Slugs:
Due to the discontinuation of premier accutips in 3" 20ga. this year, I have been forced to try every other slug available. On paper, sst's perform the best. Unfortunately, they don't come close to the accutip. Grouping from H/R ultra is about 1.75" at 50yds. Accutips beat that at 100. However, sst's perform better than the rest. Down side...out of 2 boxes...had two primers not fire.

Comments about Hornady 12 & 20 Gauge SST Shotgun Slugs:
I use these shells in my H&R Slugger for deer hunting only. I have been using these shells for quite a while and have never once failed to perform for me. I just recently went out in snowy cold weather and landed an excellent lung shot on a deer @ approx 80 yards and that was that. The price is also reasonable. The only thing i would like to see them do with these is offer a 3" but the 2-3/4 do the job!
Pros
- Price is good
Cons
- Can't pattern
- Lots of fly aways

My son shoots a 20g, has taken a large buck each of the last 2 years with 1 shot 1 kill each time. Both shots were offhand.

Comments about Hornady 12 & 20 Gauge SST Shotgun Slugs:
This ammo is quite dependable and accurate though I doubt you will be shooting 2 inch groups from any slug gun at 100 yds. Still, very appropriate for whitetail.
