      Comments about Hi-Point C-9 Handgun:

I just want to put this pistol into perspective. It is a low budget pistol, it shouldn't and won't shoot like a Sig or Glock. That being said, when shooting from the 3 yard line, all the rounds were touching in the bull. At the 7 yard line, they were all in the 5 ring. At the 15 yard line, it still kept them in the body target, but it was loose. With my Sig, I keep them in the 4 ring at 15 and 25 yards. These guns are a great deal. They are fun to have and play with. Unlimited, no questions asked warranty and very easy maintenance. These guns are a great deal and I highly recommend one.

      Comments about Hi-Point C-9 Handgun:

I have owned the Hi-Point .45 and .380 Auto models, besides the C9. Having grown up in Ohio where they are made/based, I have a bit of a soft side for them. They all do have their "breaking in" time; I would say you need to fire at least 100 rounds through any of them before they are really ready to go. They have been known to have feeding problems when new, usually because of the magazines, but breaking them in took care of that in mine. Otherwise they are all no-frills, cheap, blocky, tanks of a gun. I have never heard of anyone wearing one out. Their weight softens recoil considerably, so they are good to teach new shooters and kids with. For the C9, the 10-shot mag gives a better grip than the 8-shot.
For all that, I would be honest with yourself about what you intend to use this gun for. It is not small or light enough to be a CCW. If you intend to use it for home defense, stick to ball ammo, unless you can afford to fire 50 hollow points through yours to be sure it functions with them. You'll hear a lot of criticism about these weapons: they're ugly/heavy/bulky/blocky/"cheap"/garbage, etc. Whatever. They have never been marketed as IPSC guns. They are exactly what they seem to be: cheap shooters.

Although a little heavy compared to others, I like the weight and feel, of this weapon. I am a big guy so that my be part of why I like the weight! For under 200 dollars and made in the USA it hard to beat! I have fired 100 rounds through it, without any issues and had no problem hitting center mesh at 20 yards
