As a "bigger boy" centerfire version of the rimfire Golden Boy Silver, the Henry Big Boy Silver model is an equally striking throwback to the days of nickel plating on prized guns to protect and enhance their visual appeal. Instead of plating over the base frame material, Henry uses a solid aluminum-bronze alloy that's slightly tougher than the long-running hardened brass alloy in their popular brass-framed Big Boy lever actions. The result is a through and through silver tone, not a surface treatment that might wear or scratch through with years of use. These frame, barrel band, and buttplate surfaces can be cleaned up and polished at home if needed to maintain that brightly gleaming silver look for generations to come. Aside from the alloy used, the Big Boy Silver is essentially the same gun as the brass Big Boy Classic, with the same 20" octagonal barrel, buckhorn/bead sights, drilled and tapped scope option, straight stock wrist, carbine-style buttplate, tube magazine loading, transfer bar safety, and 8.68 pound weight.
