Comments about H&R 1871 Inc H&R Ultra Slug Youth Shotgun:
I got this gun back in my teenage years (27 now) as a gift to use for hunting with my pops. And I have to say this gun is simply amazing, out of all the other shot guns I have shot and tried this one is the one I stick with when deer hunting. It's very simple as most break actions are and it is very easy to clean and maintain. I have a scope with it and it is very accurate and I have hardly ANY recoil on this weapon I am very pleased over all with it.
The only con I have with it is that over the years of me having it I have found that this gun is very prone to rusting if not maintained properly. Keep in mind if you store it I don't mean it rusts from that unless you store it in a wet and damp place...what I mean is that well for example I was out all day deer hunting in the worst weather ever. Snow, rain, sleet, hail...all day long and when I got in at the end of the day I found that me being out in the open all day caused the gun to rust just a little bit from all the rain. I am not angry about it as the gun works wonderfully and I take care of it like i'm supposed to so over all if your looking for a gun for your child to hunt with you this is a PERFECT first choice! I plan on passing this down to my child to hunt with me if he or she wants to and i'll buy a new gun finally at that time till then I stick with this :)
