Comments about H&R 1871 Inc H&R® Ultra Slug Hunter Single-Shot 20Ga:
Have not used it enough to make many comments. It would be better to ask about the gun after next season. It will then be used in hunting in New York and Delaware under very different conditions.
I did not not like having to pay $25 extra to buy the gun that could have been shipped on the truck with everything else. I would have taken the option of waiting for it to come in on the truck but I was not given any option

Comments about H&R 1871 Inc H&R® Ultra Slug Hunter Single-Shot 20Ga:
I ordered this gun last year on Black Friday, didn't get to use it much since it didn't come in until after the shotgun season. Just took it out yesterday to get ready for this shotgun season. After 15 shots was shooting 3" groups at 100 yards. Lightfeild 2 3/4 sabot slugs worked best for me. I am thinking about purchasing a couple of different barrels for it through [@] and can turn it into a muzzle loader and a varmit gun.

Comments about H&R 1871 Inc H&R® Ultra Slug Hunter Single-Shot 20Ga:
I was kind of skepital when I seen the price and the one review but after biting the bullet, I am very pleased with the way it shoots. I mounted a Leupold 2x7x33 on it and began to test several loads and finally settled with the Remington Premier accutip shooting about 1 3/4"groups at 100yds. Not bad for a [$]. I have friends with very expensive slug guns that wont shoot this well. If you like 1 shot, 1 kill, then this is on to consider!

Comments about H&R 1871 Inc H&R® Ultra Slug Hunter Single-Shot 20Ga:
I mounted a adjustable 1.5-4.5x Bushnell Banner scope to this gun. The accuracy is amazing. I purchased this gun after letting lots of nice bucks walk that were simply too far out of range for my open-site smooth bore slug gun and I wanted a gun with scope mount integral to the barrel. After siting in the gun I've taken 4 deer around between 80 and 100 yards. I haven't missed any. The best shot was around 100 yards at a deer in the cat-tails. I could only see the throat and head of the deer looking straight at me above the tall grass. I had a branch to steady the gun on and dropped the deer. right in the throat. The only problem I've had is that too much oil on the firing pin and it can be too slow to ignite the primer, just happened for the first time this year after 5 years of use. It is my fault for not taking better care of the gun, you can't just dump oil in your action each year you should actually clean it out too! Also barrle is quite heavy and makes the gun want to flip over when carrying it with the included sling.
