Comments about H&R 1871 Inc H&R Sportster 17 Rimfire Rifle:
If you want a 17 HMR and money is an issue (it always is) you CANNOT go wrong with this gun! It's simple and reliable. I have never had a jam or misfire, and the accuracy is quite good! 1 inch groups and smaller are common at 100 yards (optics are always a factor, remember!) with the average being around 1.1 inches (experiment with ammo!). It is a single shot and you will not burn through ammo quickly! It also forces you to make the one shot you have count! The only problem I have had is the barrel heats up affecting accuracy after about three shots (not a problem semi-autos have). Other than that it's simply the best single shot out there for the price.
