The single-shot, break-action shotgun has been an American mainstay for well over a century and no gunmaker in history has mastered its sleek, simple design like Harrington & Richardson. The Topper name resonates with many generations who first experienced the gun as youngsters, later returning to the Topper upon realizing that simpler is better. It uses automatic shell ejection for fast reloading and a brass bead front sight for fast target acquisitions. Other features include side-lever release, automatic ejection, and the Transfer Bar System, which acts as a safety to prevent unintended firing. The rifle has an oil-finished walnut stock, a case-hardened receiver, a transfer bar safety, and a fixed modified choke. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in very good condition.
