A true legend, the M1 Garand was the first semi-automatic rifle to be used by the military of any nation. The official US Armed Forces service rifle from 1936 through 1957, the Garand saw combat use up through 1966 and is still used by drill teams and military honor guards today, as well as being a highly sought-after firearm for civilian hunting, target-shooting, and collecting. The M1 rifle is a gas-operated, semi-automatic, clip-fed rifle that features an “en bloc” clip system that allows ammunition to be inserted from above, clip included, into the fixed magazine. American manufacturer Harrington & Richardson received a contract to manufacture the M1 during the Korean war. The H&R has a walnut stock and parkerized metal. This rifle features a shrouded blade front sight, an adjustable aperture rear sight, and a 2-position thumb safety. Its wood is in fair condition and its metal and bore are in very good condition.
