gunvault Get compact, go-anywhere security with the GunVault Nano Vault Safe. Incredibly light and compact, the Nano Vault is perfect for home, travel, or concealed-weapon permit holders. The Nano Vault meets TSA airline firearm guidelines and fits discreetly in a bag, briefcase, desk, or under a vehicle seat. Features 21-gauge steel construction and 1-1/4" thick memory foam interior. Each unit comes standard with a 1,500-lb. test security cable. When the cable is wrapped around any fixed object and slid over the lock receiver inside the security box, both the Nano Vault and its valuables will be secured. 9.5"L x 6.5"W x 1.75"D.

    False Security

    I have the nano 200 and 300. I bought the 300 for the convenience of the combo lock on travel.

    Big mistake - the lock is plastic. With a little jarring in the suitcase carrying a 1911, the lid popped open and contents spilled out. The latch actually broke away from the lock, rendering it useless. Missed that flight because TSA won't accept it if it doesn't lock.

    Also had to replace those mothball stinky pads with quality charcoal foam because the smell got on my hands, on the weapon, and migrated into my clothes. Tried sunning it for 2 weeks but no help.

    Useless scrap to me now.

      Combination lock stopped working.

      I had to break it open. "Luckily" the locking mechanism is held in place with a plastic component. It gave way and vault openned.

      Useful for portability ... but won't keep anyone out ... the 1500 lb cable is nice ... but anyone can open it with a screw driver (flat head).

            After four weeks, I had serious trouble opening 1 out of 5 times! Had to use a small screw driver to pry open after twenty minutes of trying and I even tried polishing the latch to smooth things. I know it was cheap but I will replace it with something else soon. What good is it if you can't open it? the latch has pastic in it and is very sloppy, I would have fixed it if I could but the design just won't allow it. If you don't mind it not opening when you want it to, it was just fine for the price!

            Weak lock made of plastic - broke

            The lock mechanism is made out of plastic.
            When I put my holstered gun in and closed it the belt clip pushed the vault open and snapped the lock.
            The case is plenty solid but the lock is a 1/4" plastic stud.

            I hope that they make an updated version with metal lock.

              I've had my truck broken into twice, and both times the thief cracked open this lock box and stole my pistol. This only prevents your kids from gaining access to the box, but they are very ease to crack open. The latch is made of plastic and a screw driver will pry it open in 2 seconds.

                    Exterior Dimensions are 9.5" x 6.5" x 1.75". The NanoVault 300 features 21-gauge steel construction and 1.25-inch thick memory foam interior. Each unit comes standard with a 1,500-pound test security cable.
