Bought two of these little safes over ten years ago and I'm very satisfied. They are easy to program and use. Just hit the buttons you told it to use and >pop< it's open. The molded finger slots makes this easy to do even in the dark. Changing the batteries is fairly easy since you can simply unplug the holder from the wire and swap them out - and you only have to do that once a year. For pistols it's really great - keeps the kids from getting at them and still allows you to have quick access for home defense. No they are not fire proof but adding that feature would significantly add to the size and price too. No, for the money these are the best. You simply can't go wrong buying on of these. Now I'm looking to get the double sized one too.
