gunvault These Biometric Vaults use fingerprint recognition technology to keep out intruders. Outside is constructed of 16-gauge steel with a tamper-proof spring-loaded door. Soft foam on the inside protects valuables. The Biometric Mini and Multi Vaults use a high-performance self-learning algorithm to achieve fast identification of enrolled fingerprints, reduce false reject rate, and learn from slight changes that occur in enrolled fingerprints over time. The biometric system can handle up to 30 fingerprint templates. Includes AC power adapter. Also runs up to 1 year on 9V battery. 8.1"W x 4.9"H x 12"D.

This safe is not worth the money. When I removed it from the box, the foam padding was ripped and it was missing the battery tray. In addition, some of the wires were dangling within the storage compartment. I would not count on this safe to perform in an emergency if it comes from the manufacturer in this kind of condition.

    I use this product to store a pistol for quick access. Programming the product is simple as well as adding new access for others. The unit runs either on AC wall plug or a 9-volt battery, giving you access anywhere. The unit is fairly portable but has bolt holes if you want to secure it.

        I was excited to get this item on sale during Black Friday for a pretty decent price. Putting the 9V battery in was very difficult and time consuming but I finally got it. If I had really small hands maybe that would make a difference. The next step was to program my finger as an authorized user. You begin by pressing the S1 button (the only button with the middle finger) which opens the locked door since the unit is automatically put in "demo mode." Well, the door never opened and I couldn't program my finger print. I guess it doesn't automatically go into "demo mode" but "disappointment mode." I tried several times, read and reread the owners manual, and even looked online for trouble shooting with no solutions. I unplugged the battery hoping the unit would reset, but that didn't work either. I tried calling customer service but due to holiday hours was not open. Needless to say I took it back and purchased the BARSKA Top Opening Biometric Fingerprint Safe for much cheaper and with MUCH better reviews. I suggest looking at the reviews for the Gunvault biometric mini vault ....they aren't very good. Still a fan of Gander Mountain!

            I wish I could have read the other reviews before buying this, as it is rated avg 3 now, but website won't show the comments. Got this on sale, but not worth it. Took multiple views of my fingerprints and it would not open consistently...Now imagine if there was an intruder and what kind of distress you would be under trying to open an unreliable case!

              This safe is a perfect size and use for quick access to handgun's for personal safety or for personal belongings such as money, passports, wallets, jewelry, etc. It is small enough to keep in a bed stand, closet shelf, or any other easy to access yet fairly hidden location. The one negative is that it has to have a battery AND be plugged in to an outlet so you have to factor the cord into your location.

                      Read poor reviews in the past but decided to ask for this for my birthday thinking Gunvault would have the kinks worked out by now. NOT SO
                      Followed instructions to a T and safe would open about 10% of the time. Even tried putting multiple entries of the same finger.I am taking it back for exchange on a different model. Gunvault needs to get this model fixed!!!
