Great little stuffer for the money. Had mine for two years and have stuffed hundreds of pounds of meat with it with no problems. Would like to see metal gears used but as with anything if you dont abuse it it works fine. Easy to use, easy cleanup, and if you have everything ready to go you can stuff alot of sausage in a short time.

Worked great out of the box. Nylon gear broke on last batch. Nylon gears are not durable. Design improvement needed. Called and they said they were sending a new set. I hope not Nylon. Will not recommend until Nylon Gears are replaced with metal. Should not have to buy 15lb stuffer for [$] more to get metal gears. WOULD RATE 5 STARS IF GEARS WERE DURABLE!

Pros
- Easy To Clean
Cons
- Cheap Plastic Gears
- Not durable
Best Uses
The gears stripped within the first five pounds of snack sticks. I called Gander Mountain customer service and they sent me replacement gears free of charge (Kudos to the great customer service at GM)! The replacement gears are made from a different material, but still plastic, and only a little stronger. I have made about 50-75lbs of sausage and sticks now but one gear cog is completely broken off

Pros
- Compact
- Easy To Clean
Cons
- Gears strip on snak stix
- Needs board and clamps
Best Uses
I mounted mine to a board, to reduce flimsiness of base.. must use clamps to secure to table or counter. Works great with large casing sausage, but gears strip with smaller casings... add water like they suggest or you'll strip your nylon gears. For the price, gears should be metal!!!

Q:
My daughter bought this product for me for a christmas present. I wanted to turn some old deer into sausage and I found out that all 3 tubes were missing. Can I order the tubes. I should get 3 for free since my daughter paid for them but at this point I'll buy them if I can. Thanks, DadAsked on 7/25/2009 by dad from danville, il1 answer
A:
contact Gander mountain about the missing stuffing tubes. We had a few problems with the stuffer and for the most part they were great about it. Unfortunaley we did end returning the stuffer because the nylon gears went out. Two teeth broke. You should be able to purchase stuffing tubes through almost any butcher supply company. Open up your local telephone book, or use internet. You will be surprised how many you find. Matter a fact we purchased a 3/8 stainless steel stuffing tube through a butcher shop. It works great for sticks. Good luck. TammyAnswered on 8/10/2009 by Tammy from Isanti, Mn
Q:
I am trying to find a 3/8" tube for smaller sausage sticks to fit this unit. I did ask at the store where I purchased the product and they were going to check on it but I have not heard back.Asked on 4/23/2009 by skip from Baxter, MN1 answer
A:
They have a 3/8 tube at LEM Manufacturing. It is SST and part number is----606-A Cost is 12.99 + shipping
It also has a 1-9/16 OD Base. Just make sure your base is that small- On mine I had to file it---about .015 smaller OKAnswered on 11/30/2009 by Fishinman50 from Mountain, Wi

Q:
Does the sausage stuffer come with different size tubes. Or can you purchase them seperate.Asked on 1/2/2009 by Anonymous1 answer

Q:
Can you buy an electronic motor for guide series sausage stuffers.Asked on 12/30/2008 by Anonymous1 answer
A:
These sausage stuffers are not setup for electric motors. I have made thousands of pounds of sausage over the last fifty years and I have never seen a consumer type electric sausage stuffer that worked well. Most stuff too fast and are hard to control and you end up bursting the casings. I have found the hand cranked vertical stuffers work the best. After you use one a little while you will develop a feel for how fast you can stuff. With the larger 15lb stuffers you can stuff over 100lbs of sausage in approx 1 hour without a problem.Answered on 12/26/2010 by Gee Wizz from Jacksonville, FL
Q:
do you carry the skin for the sausage maker and what does it cost.Asked on 12/13/2008 by Anonymous0 answers
Q:
Does this stuffer have an air valve release that pushes air out the top instead of into the casing?Asked on 11/30/2008 by Sue from Little Suamico, WI2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
I have emailed the manufacture (for a 100% answer) but to the best of my knowledge it does have the air release on it.Answered on 12/11/2008 by Spencer from Gander MountainA:
Yes there is a air release in the top but it doesn't let all of the air out so you still may get some air in your casings.Answered on 9/28/2009 by Tim from Erie, Pa
Q:
I recently bought the 5lb. sausage stuffer, after about 30lb. of sausage the gears went out. do you have replacment parts?Asked on 11/28/2008 by Al from Hermantown, Mn2 answers
A:
Yes they can be ordered for you-Add ice water for smoother operation as done commercially. You will not have a problem then.Answered on 12/17/2008 by Mick the butcher from Central WisconsinA:
I have had my gears go out and bought them from Northern tool and they work very well in my Guide series stuffer---$7.44 each and I bought two sets.--Shipping is $5.99 for up to three sets.
Good luck-----I LOVE MY GANDER MOUNTAIN 5-lB STUFFERAnswered on 11/30/2009 by Fishinman50 from Mountain, Wi
