Comments about Guide Series #12 Stainless Steel Electric Meat Grinder; 3/4 HP Motor:

I was a little skeptical at first due to the 2 negative reviews, but the good reviews sounded great plus the salesman said if I was not happy I could return it. When I started out it was jamming and bogging down, which sounded much like what happened with regards to the 1 review. I figured that Gander would not put their name on a product if it was junk so I thought there had to be a simple solution; the solution was very simple, The Blade Was On Backwards!!! I turned the blade around and it worked great! The grinder cut up the meat as fast as I could feed it. Another bonus is that it is quiet. I would definately recommend this to my friends.

This product is very great. Easy to use and very very durable. I have used many grinders but this one is the best yet. Easy to clean up and lots of power to spare. We grind a lot of hog and it done a great job. And we can grind 100 pounds in less that 20 min. This is a product i would recommend to anybody. And i also like all the attachments that are available for it.

Comments about Guide Series #12 Stainless Steel Electric Meat Grinder; 3/4 HP Motor:

This is a Big, Beautiful grinder. I was concerned it would be noisy (see
other review) but found it very quiet. Same sound level as my drill press. My son-in-law and I were all smiles as 40 pounds of meat was effortlessly ground into hamburger. No stopping, no jamming, no
babying. Just quiet, easy, quick. And I paid someone to do this for years! I'm going to buy a bottle brush to help with clean-up... It's hard to reach all the way inside with your hand. I can't imagine needing more power. Stores back in box for next year. Glad I took other's advice: buy the best, you'll never regret it. Next year-sausage.

Comments about Guide Series #12 Stainless Steel Electric Meat Grinder; 3/4 HP Motor:

I have used other electric grinders in the past and decided to get one for myself rather than borrow one. This grinder has a circuit breaker built in. The very first time I used the machine I started off by attempting to grind some beef tallow to mix in with venison. The circuit breaker kept kicking off.......i.e. the grinder jammed and I had to disasseble the grinder head and clean it out to get it to work again. When I started back at grinding the tallow the only way I could grind the tallow without the circuit breaker kicking off was to feed chunks of tallow in one small piece at a time......in a 3/4 HP grinder it should grind up tallow like butter......which is kind of the consistency of tallow. That evening we ground up 100 pounds of venison and the grinder jammed up several times throughout the evening and had to be disassembled and cleaned out for it to keep working. It was also very difficult to feed meat through the grinder with any speed......required lots of tamping to get the grinder to suck the meat in....lots of physical pressure. The tamper to push meat into the throat of the grinder is not large or long enough to do an adequate job. As a comparison, I have ground meat in the past with a friends grinder that is only 1/2 HP in half the time and with half the effort. I plan to return this grinding after my one very poor experience with it.

Comments about Guide Series #12 Stainless Steel Electric Meat Grinder; 3/4 HP Motor:

I have used many of my friends grinders and have not had any problems. I decided to buy my own this year, and wished I would have made a different decesion on what I bought. This grinder on start-up sounded like it was going to sieze up regardless of how tight the plate/knife retainer ring was. I decided to give it a try on 10lbs of chuck roast that I cut up. It was about 5lbs in before it started cooking the meat and then the gears stripped out. Even though it looks like what I have used before, it is not near the quality.
