Comments about Gorilla Treestands® Silverback™ Hybrid Light HX Climber:

The 'D' shaped channels need to be deburred and the pin design improved. These two issues keep this stand from being 'perfect.'

Comments about Gorilla Treestands® Silverback™ Hybrid Light HX Climber:

Even though it's made in China, the stand seems well made and quiet. I do not like the D Clips, I already replaced them. I am 6ft 235lbs 36" waist. It's a tight fit on smaller trees.

Comments about Gorilla Treestands® Silverback™ Hybrid Light HX Climber:

I took this stand out side. I put it on the tree, sat down and the seat broke in two. I'm average build and height(180 5'9"). I was in no danger, the zipper connects the top and bottom of the seat. So I would not have fallen. It's just a flaw in the seat. It was built pretty good, but had a bar that went across my back (not an all day stand). I think this would be a beginner stand. There is question about the weight. On the side of the box it said 23#'s. I would say that is true. So in closing the stand is built well, and has a few issues to work out. It's hard to try out online.

Comments about Gorilla Treestands® Silverback™ Hybrid Light HX Climber:

I'm an avid hunter.I don't write reviews!! I own a summit viper (mild steel version). It has served me well despite it being like 36 lbs. Rust has finaly taken over and it is time to replace. I found this and it looked good online. The reviews sounded good. So I thought I'll give it a try. Well thats where it went south. I opened it up and the smell was pretty bad. I thought I'll leave it out side for a day or so and it will be gone.So I took it out side and put it on a tree to try it out. I installed the seat and went up about five feet. I hooked the seat strap around the tree and sat down. Thats when the seat zipper broke! I'm 5'9" and 180 lbs. I don't think I've ever broken a seat before.lol There is a bar behind the seat that needs a pad on it or something. So not what I'm use to for sure. I thought this is not for me. So I folded it back up and put it in the box. I like the fold up idea. The side of the box said it was 23 lbs. 23-25 with seat on it at most,(I weighed it) so its not heavy at all. It just needs airing out, an after market seat and a pool noodle on the bar in your back at least. Looks like its built pretty good, just not the stand for me. I sent mine back. Well I tried, I guess its time to save up some more money.LOL This time it will be alum. or nothing. I got about eight years out of my summit. Good luck and happy hunting this year!!!
