Comments about Glock 26 Handgun:
I use my pistol for home protection and concealed carry. I have used a .380 in the past and wanted a more capable alternative. I am hardly an enthusiast and was able to group my shots immediately. The Glock provides ease of use which translates quickly into acceptable accuracy.

Comments about Glock 26 Handgun:
This is my everyday concealed carry weapon. I literally trust my life with it. Fits in truck center console easily. It's "enough gun" for a man, and not "too much gun" for a lady. Girlfriend described shooting it as being "like butter". I've had it for four+ months and fired approx. 1,500 rounds through it over about 12 trips to the ranges (indoor and outdoor).
Reliability: zero failures to feed, fire or eject so far. Readily accepts larger Glock magazines from the same caliber, plus high capacity mags. So you can use the 17 and 15 round mags from G17's and G19's, plus the 33 round 9mm all-around magazines. Makes for more fun range shooting when you don't have to change mags. Off-brand compatible mags may be poor quality and break or fail to feed. Stick with Glock factory mags for it, ESPECIALLY for self-defense.
Try to avoid overgripping the handle, as you can experience "slide bite" where the slide slightly grazes the skin between your thumb and index finger during cycling, leaving a sore after a day at the range. This G26 is a subcompact, so you'll need to grip just a little lower than you might on a larger pistol.
Accuracy: I used it to qualify for my NRA Certified Pistol Instructor proficiency exam, which means out of the box I shot 40 rounds of Speer Lawman ammo all within 6 inches of each other from a distance of 15 yards at an outdoor range.
Maintenance: cleans up just like any other Glock, which does mean there's that little bit of tricky grasp you'll have to do to release the slide from the frame. Could be a problem if you have arthritis or otherwise lack hand strength/dexterity. In that case, though, you should avoid semi-autos altogether, not just this particular make and model, because SA's operation in general require "normal" adult hand strength (either M or F).
Overall: If this is your first gun, you'll later be shocked that any other brand is even still in business, when you compare the reliability, accuracy and ease of use of this G26 to anything else in the same class of weapon.

Comments about Glock 26 Handgun:
If you had to pick one gun for home/personal protection, the Glock 26 is about as good as it gets. With ten in the mag and one in the pipe, it is what I depend upon when discretion and stealth is a must. Easily concealed and almost as reliable as a S&W/Colt revolver, (I have yet to have any misfeeds after over 5000+ rounds fired), this pistol is instantly recognized by the "bad guys" for its "business" attitude. While the 9MM FMJ round is inexpensive, it cuts deep….the JHP not so much. You have to decide which round to bring. I bring both.
Make sure that you order it with Tritium sites.

Comments about Glock 26 Handgun:
I am extremely happy with this gun: it is the right fit for me (average-sized guy with large hands). Not one malfunction after 300 rounds on my Gen 4 G26. Fires FMJs and JHPs fine, fires +P rounds well. Easy to carry: the gun is way light even in a pocket. It is a bit thick for some but that is a positive for me: the thin guns are harder for me to grip. Luger rounds are relatively inexpensive and will do the job when called upon for self-defense. I picked 9mm because I heard it is the most reliable ammo in Glocks...I have double-feed issues in my Beretta 96FS .40 Cal, even after swapping out the springs and relubing the gun. Reliability is paramount in an SD gun, so I hope this Glock lives up to the hype. It's small enough and light enough for pocket carry, but I prefer hip for fast draw and crossdraw for the car. This gun is super easy to field strip and clean....another big plus. No buttons to manipulate during an encounter: I don't like safety buttons on my guns. I can hit moving targets well with the gun: it's a great tactical point-and-shoot gun...the feel for that is just right somehow. If I were allowed to have only one gun, this is the gun I'd keep.

Comments about Glock 26 Handgun:
I've put 1200+ rounds through mine and no real problems. I had a couple FTE, but I'm going to blame that on the ammo. I've switched brands and not had any problems.
With the short mags, it makes carrying a breeze. But, I've also got two G19 Mags and the grip extensions for the range. I don't have a problem with the short mags, but it makes it easier for the wife to get a good hold with the longer mag.
And the end of the day, its a great little pistol. I like to think of it as "The Little Pistol that Could".
