garmin The Oregon 450t's preloaded U.S. topographic maps, 3-D map view, and built-in worldwide basemap with shaded relief give you all the tools for serious climbing or hiking. The Oregon 450t also lets you exchange waypoints, tracks, routes, and geocaches wirelessly with other compatible units.

This rugged navigation unit offers an easy-to-use interface and crystal clear colors on a sunlight-readable TFT touchscreen. The microSD card slot makes it simple to load additional maps with greater detail. The included 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass shows your heading, even when you're standing still. A barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your precise altitude and allows you to plot barometric pressure over time. WAAS-enabled GPS receiver and HotFix satellite prediction locate positions quickly and precisely. Save up to 2,000 waypoints, 200 routes, 200 tracks, and 10,000 track points. Meets IPX7 waterproof standards. 3" color touchscreen display with 400 x 240 pixels. Operates on 2 AA batteries. 2.3"W x 4.5"H x 1.4"D.

    I downloaded the snowmobile maps of the midwest and have used the gps in three different states this year and it worked great for me. the screen is a little difficult to read in the bright sun in snow. the batteries last about one day when on all day.

          I haven't had this product very long to try all the features yet. But so far I have been using it for archery hunting and it works great. It's very accurate and easy to set up. The moon phase chart is very helpfull as well as the the hunting and fishing calender which tells you the best days and times to go. Wasn't expecting so many features the price is a little high than others out there but if you want one that is reliable this is the one for you.

          Bought this to help learn area where I hunt. The Topo Map included with the unit showed no features, not even established jeep trails. The screen is so small as to make if difficult to read.

          Service and delivery comments:

          Customer service was very poor in assisting with the return of the unit and being able to print FedEx lable.

            This product has good features however it is VERY FRAGILE and Garmin will not cover it under warranty.

            This GPS that is advertised as rugged got a cracked screen as the result of a 12" drop inside a truck from seat to floor board area.

            Garmin said we are sorry that is not covered even though it is only a couple months old and was used in the field once. They will replace for $XXX with a refurbished unit.

            Great features but beware...
