Product Description
garmin Delta remote training device - using proven Tri-Tronics technology - sets a new standard in dog training with an easy-to-read LCD screen; intuitive, 3-button-front controller; and separate side buttons for level adjustment and dog selection. Delta can even remember an individual dog's training settings and is optimized to work on all dog breeds and coat lengths. Delta is ergonomically designed to require only 1 hand to operate with 3 front "action" buttons for stimulation, tone and/or vibration. Side buttons and an easy-to-read LCD let you switch easily between the training configurations and different dogs being trained. The dog device is optimized to work on all breeds and coat thicknesses and has an effective range of up to 1/2 mile.

Delta gives you the option of using continuous and momentary stimulation, vibration or tone. Or, use all 3 in the same session. With 3 correction configurations (viewable in the LCD display), you can select the training option best suited to the situation and dog temperament. Delta offers the ability to control up to 3 dogs (with additional dog devices sold separately) and quickly change between them. Delta is rugged and water resistant (IPX7) with a long-lasting rechargeable, lithium-ion battery in both the transmitter and dog device.

Comments about Garmin Delta Dog Trainer:

Our recently adopted about 6 month old rescue is a very smart, but somewhat headstrong puppy. We are on several acres and like to let the dogs out with us. This one is great, except when she gets distracted by deer, birds etc. The Delta lets us get her attention and she can run, but will come back when called. It took a fairly high setting to get her attention, initially but now 2 weeks into using it, she obeys with only needing the vibration (we used the vibration setting immediately prior to going to the stimulation, so she knows what the next step is).

Comments about Garmin Delta Dog Trainer:

I had a Tritronics trainer and it worked great. Unfortunately I lost the handheld and could not find a replacement since Garmin bought them out and no longer produces that device. I have always liked Garmin products and support, but the Delta Sport Dog trainer is not up to par. My biggest and only grip is that the contact points are too, way too short and Garmin does not offer longer ones.

This is really short cited on Garmins part. I have too Labs and one has a very thick coat. No matter how tight I make the colar, the corrections do not work.

I would look for other options until Garmin changes there design and offers longer points to get through thick coats.
