Comments about Gander Mountain Soft Tackle Bag, Blue:

This is a terrific tackle bag that will hold a lot more fishing gear than any similarly priced tackle box and let you keep that gear better organized. It came with two clear plastic utility boxes w/dividers and I bought a third one, so I've got one for my soft baits and worms, one for crankbaits and other hard lures, and one for hooks, sinkers and bobbers. Plus I've got a good dozen or more packs of worms and other rubber swimbaits in the main compartment; these can get messy if you take out more than one utility box at a time, so my solution is to take out just one and always put it back in the middle, between the other two, with the worm packs jammed in front of the three utility boxes.

I really like the included shoulder strap, which is quite grippy on one side, sits securely on one's shoulders and frees up a hand for carrying multiple rods, bait, etc.... The bag's Cordura fabric is thick and tough, the bag is well-made, and I see this lasting a decade, easy. The two side pockets are insulated and are large enough for a typical live worm/bait container or two cans of soda.

The only downside to this bag is that it could use a fourth outside pocket for small, frequently used stuff. Most modern tackleboxes have a small topside compartment with a clear cover for keeping often-used essentials and those are handier and quicker to access than the zippered pockets on this bag. However, relying on clear utility boxes with adjustable compartment dividers, one's equipment is much better organized and won't fall out or spill like it might with an expanding/telescoping shelf system in a typical tackle box, so the time saved in not having to hunt for spilled lures, hooks, sinkers, etc... is worth the trade-off in lack of quickly accessible outside compartments.

Comments about Gander Mountain Soft Tackle Bag, Blue:

great size, not to heavy , buckles are a pain, I did cut them off and installed velcro.Removed the 3 issued storage boxes and installed four Gander M..8"x 4" x 1 1/2" utility boxes and 1 spinner bait box instead. more usable room now for other staple items you always need in quick reach. pockets are large enough to fit your hand down in without pinching all your fingers together. After these changes best all around Bag or Box I carry, I do own other bags and other boxes and . this is my all species bag.Remember! . cut the buckles off ,not the nylon straps, great place to clip on hand towel, flashlight etc.
