Product Description
gander_mountain Keep your drinks, food, and meat cold with the Gander Mountain PermaChill Cooler. This rotomolded cooler features thick polyurethane insulation plus a refrigeration-style D-seal for strength and maximum ice retention, so your goods stay colder longer in all environments. This all-weather cooler has a lid lock integrated hinge to prevent accidental lid closings, and a T-latch that fits over the screw for a secure fit and corrosion-free closure. The PermaChill Cooler also includes an over-sized 2" drain hole that lets you completely drain your cooler quickly. The drain plug is attached to prevent losing it.

Gander Mountain built this cooler with a dual stainless steel locking plate that provides more security. Convenient molded-in handles as well as removable nylon handles provide comfort and ease when lifting in any situation. The feet are reversible. One side allows easy sliding, while the anti-skid side provides slip protection on a moving boat and helps the cooler stay put over the roughest waves.

Comments about Gander Mountain Gander Mtn. PermaChill 70-L Cooler, 18.5 gal., White:

This cooler is worth the money. I filled the cooler on a Thursday at 3:oo pm and on Saturday night it was still holding ice. The average temp during the day is 90 degrees and the cooler sat in a warehouse that does not have air conditioning Thursday and Friday before sitting outside all day Saturday. The cooler does have some water in the bottom but the cold water helps keep the cooler cold. These coolers are just as good as the yeti and much less expensive. I tested this cooler with the yeti 65 and they held the same amount of ice over the same period of time. If you want a good cooler that won't break the bank then purchase a PermaChill.

I purchased the 70 for a fishing vacation with my wife. I was past due for a new cooler and went to buy a Yeti until I saw this. I was a little skeptical as there are no spare parts available for these yet and no accessories to speak of however the quality of construction was nice and the price was right for $100 less than the comparable sized Yeti. I checked the reviews from my smartphone and decided to give it a try. I pre-chilled the cooler and added items that were already cold plus 30# of cold dense ice. The weather was 80 degrees and overcast. In less than 36 hours all of my ice was melted, I bought more ice and same thing...gone in less than 36 hours. When I got home from our trip I tired again with no luck. I was so disappointed I took it back to Gander Mtn and exchanged it for a Yeti. I can not believe the difference. It's been 48 hours now and I still have all of my ice. I should have saved myself the frustration and gotten the Yeti from the start but lesson learned. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on the Yeti. As for the other reviews...maybe mine was defective but then again maybe not. Finding out while on vacation was learning the hard way. Sorry I can't say I will recommend this to anyone.
