Comments about Gander Mountain Submersible Aluminum Flashlight, 190 Lumen, 2AA:

My security work puts me in situations where a small yet powerful light is needed. After looking over a number of tactical lights on the market I settled on this one from Gander Mountain. It is well built for the very reasonable price and has a "heft" to it that was unexpected but it is also a bit longer than I expected making it unwieldy.
There are three light modes with the light - high, which gives you the full 190 lumens, low which is more than bright enough for most tasks and strobe which can be used to confuse an opponent.
You activate each of the settings by cycling through using the tail cap mounted switch, which is easy to use even with gloves on. A nice feature is that after a few seconds on any of the settings, when you press the switch again, the light turns off. So you can cycle through to the setting you need and then just turn off the light.
On high the light will temporarily blind a suspect and it has proved more than bright enough and easy to use. In the one situation where I was forced to draw my weapon and illuminate my potential target. I have to believe that the blinding light and the suspect knowing I had him "dead to rights" helped him decide that fighting was not an option.
Over all a very good light for the money.
