I purchased these boots in preparation for a mule deer hunt in New Mexico. I wanted a boot that was durable, had good ankle support, and had good traction. These boots exceeded my expectations on all fronts. These boots were very comfortable from the first time I put them on, and they required zero break-in time. I am very comfortable hiking for hours on rough terrain in these boots. I plan on buying another pair for when these wear out, which, given the quality of the boot, will be years down the road.

I used these for a month before taking them back due to not waterproof. I treated them twice with a silcone leather treatment and it did not help much if at all. The boot is supposed to have a waterproof liner so treatement should not be necessary to keep water out. I tried my best to find a solution with my success being a return which Gander did not hesitate on -Good Job on their part!!! Picked up a pair of Irish Setters at Gander to replace. It is my second pair. 1st pair purchased last year (different model for different use) and I am very happy with them after quite a bit of walking in the WI woods in dry, wet, snow, and mud. Hoping for the same with these Trail Phantom 600g 9" boots!

Comments about Gander Mountain Men's Upland 200g Hunting Boot:
I bought these boots for hunting, but as I wore them the first few times to break them in before going hunting in them, they are so darn comfortable and stylish, I wear them as an every day boot now. So now, I will need to actually pick up a pair for the 2013 White Tail season in Michigan.

Q:
What are the weight on these? Thanks!Asked on 8/29/2010 by Anonymous3 answers
A:
5.1 lbs for the pair. They arrived today and the first thing I did was put them on the scale.Answered on 9/26/2012 by UplandHntr from SG, ILA:
Each boot weighs 2 1/8 lbs. That's 4 1/4 lbs. for the pair.Answered on 1/23/2011 by Ken from New JerseyA:
about 4 1/2 to 5 pound both boots I'd sayAnswered on 3/7/2012 by Buckey from Houghton Lake Michigan
Q:
How tall are these boots, and how are they water proofed? (gortex) or howAsked on 3/4/2010 by picky from Wilmington, NC1 answer
A:
They are the same height as the typical "logger boot" 8 or 9 inches. I tried a pair on today, amazed at how comfy they were! Waterproof is with a "breathable membrane", so yeah, Gore-Tex, not any kind of "treatment" to the leather. Definite buy for season pheasant season this year.Answered on 8/6/2010 by Birddog from Madison WI
