This kitchen kit works well to keep all needed items located in one area. We did make the mistake of leaving food in one of the zippered bags and racoons arrived promptly and started destroying the bag to get food. Coleman cook stove fits nicely on one shelf. Sink is nice to clean cups/dishes.

Comments about Gander Mountain Deluxe Camp Kitchen:

I must say that while I am an avid camper, I didn't buy this for that purpose...I bought it because it's summer & sooo hot inside (because I cook everyday), I wanted to stop heating up my kitchen and the rest of the house so I bought it to set up an outside kitchen by setting this georgeous unit on my front deck. And now, when it's 80 & 90+ degrees I cook outside and even tho I may not be off cooking at the campsite...I feel that I am...would we call this pretend camping? LOL.
Anyway I've had the unit 3+ weeks now and just love it. I'll say too, it has literally rained here (Upstate NY) every single day since May. My unit went up as soon as I picked it up at the store (6/18/13) yet there's not the slightest sign of rust, it still sparkles like a new copper penny (1943 zinc penny really).
I was stunned at how easily it went together! I had gathered all my tools together, dragged them out to the deck and NEVER USED THE FIRST TOOL!
This unit is truly a piece of cake to set up and worth every Dollar you're going to spend for it.
To take it down you just take off the lantern sticks, take off the sink cover, remove the sturdy screened front shelving units, fold 'er up slide into the large tote bag and head for the hills.
With this unit you can do it all...so have some real fun with it, pretend you're camping everyday with the luxury of "oh oh I forgot the..." and run inside to your fully stocked kitchen to grab the forgotten item.

Comments about Gander Mountain Deluxe Camp Kitchen:

This is one of the best camping items we have ever purchased, put off buying it way too long. I makes food preparation and clean up so much easier. We keep all of our kitchen supplies in it so getting ready to leave both home and the campsite is quicker. Can't say enough good things about it.

I want to use the center "table" with slats for cooking, so would the sink need to be removed? If so, is it removable? Also, does the "spice rack" above the center table fold up, so a grill can be placed on the table? Thanks for any help!

what is the height of the center table?
Asked on 7/5/2012 by terrill from United States

            • A:

Center Table is 32 1/2" H x 23 1/2" L x 16" D. It is not a solid piece but an accordian type yet very firm sink cover. Yes you can use it to cook on if desired but will need a cutting board if you want to chop veggies etc on it.
Just as an FYI the side tables are 23 1/2" H x 23" L x 14 1/4 " D and they're identicle to each other. They are 1 solid piece not the accordian cover you'll find on the center table.

I was wondering if the storage bag compartments are easy to remove as I camp in bear country and need to store food items in bear box.

Also what are the dimensions of the camp kitchen when folded? How long does it take to assemble and take down? What is the weight of the kitchen?

yes they hang underneath using hooks. and quickly remove. the kitchen comes in a carry bag that is about 3 ft long 8 inches deep and about 2 1/2 ft.high. it weighs about 20 lbs. its great for car camping where u can drop it off of your tailgate. if u can talk a stout friend into carrying it further than that your one lucky camper. good luck

Description says the side tables are for stoves or other preparation. Is the top table not to be used for the stove for some reason?

what material are the working shelves made of? MDF? Stainless steel?

            • A:

The two side shelves are framed in aluminum and the tops are a board possibly MDF. They are thin but sturdy and remind me of the older style folding tables from the 70's. You know the kind that has lasted forever without falling apart. The top that goes over the sink is retangular tube aluminum maybe. It rolls up since each slat is about 2.5" and connected with bungee cord. It is very sturdy as well. I haven't taken it camping yet, bought this weekend, but I love it already. The shelf fits a Coleman style stove nicely.
