All in all great pack, not a great rifle holder, but common sense says get a good rifle bag, but great for holding it long enough to get to a hide. Plenty room for 72 hour food, water, pancho, spare socks, a pancho liner, knife, Etool, Tomahawk, fire gear, and shooting mat. I do a little survival as well and althought this isnt the bag for that it could in a hunting situtation

Comments about Gander Mountain Bow And Rifle Pack:
Okay,
This seemed like a good "dual purpose pack".
I have hunted whitetail for years and am now getting into goose/duck. I needed a pack for carrying all of the extra goodies you have to carry around for hunting. I could manage to stuff it all in my pockets for deer hunting but once I got into goose hunting forget about it.
Goods:
PLENTY of pockets, Great!
Great pattern, virtually completely covered
Lightweight
Quiet, made of the "silent type" fabric
Did I mention all of the pockets?
Has a sling to carry your rifle or bow, I was skeptical of using this feature when I read about it but it is the real deal. I won't hesitate to throw my rifle in there
Bads:
Because of the "silent type" fabric I question its durability....
It is small, I am a big guy (6'4" 240) but when I put it on it feels like a little kids. My wife started laughing at me and sang "Fat Guy in a Little Coat" Chris Farley style. Once you adjust it all the way out it fits alright, just way high on your back, almost on your shoulders
None of these are super big deals except this:
This thing STUNK. Literally, when I opened the box I almost fell over. It smelled crazy "chemically", I let it air out for about two weeks and I dont smell it anymore but I am leery about wildlife smelling it. I will scent block it multiple times before taking it in the field
Overall:
Not perfect but for the price compared to other packs available; a great purchase

Comments about Gander Mountain Bow And Rifle Pack:
Great day hunt pack. Holds crossbow with no issues. Plenty of storage and easy to get into. Zippers are very small and seem like they may break as usage prolongs. Only big issue I see is that the belt strap, when attached, is up over my belly instead of around my waste. It's like the pack is too short? I'm 6'0" and 195lbs. Otherwise, I like the pack, just hate the belt strap placement.

Comments about Gander Mountain Bow And Rifle Pack:
I am a avid hunter and will be in the field on most day during deer all day from first light to after dark. I pack plenty water, protein bars and Jurkey to last all day. I also pack GPS, limb saw and other useful hunting equipment and there is a place for every thing. The pack is well built and holds my crossbow with out a problem. I would recommend this pack to anybody. I will say Gander Mountain listed the pack as out of stock, I was in the store in Bowling Green Ky and they had 5 or 6 so I got lucky because I didn't think I was going to get one.

Comments about Gander Mountain Bow And Rifle Pack:
I can carry my rifle, compound bow or crossbow with this pack. More storage than described in the product description which was a pleasant surprise. Will allow me to hoist my weapon of choice and my gear into my treestands with one fell swoop. Enough room for packing everything I use for an all day hunt.

A:
Hmmm...
WaterPROOF?
Rain... No problem Absolutely rain proof.
I won't be setting it in the water on my duck hunts though as the zippers are not taped.Answered on 11/1/2012 by Rock from All of West Michigan; Buffalo to Bridge
