I have not used this jerky gun to make jerky, but, I have used it to stuff sausage. Over the past two weekends, we've ground and stuffed over 30 lbs of Italian sausage and kielbasa, and NOTHING is faster to use. I used the stuffing horn from my grinder instead of the nozzle that came with the gun, and it stuffs a one-pound ring of kielbasa in under a minute. Cleanup is pretty straightforward, and it takes down easily for storage.
Great product!

the piston failed. A new one is $10.00 with $5.00 shipping. This has got to be a $1.00 part. Why don't they stock parts in the store?

If you thread the tube onto the housing incorrectly the nut that holds the plunger arm together will unscrew and you will need to start over. After some use you will learn what NOT to do.

Best Uses
Comments about Gander Mountain Aluminum Jerky Shooter:
This jerk shooter is the best I have used. I have only run about 10 lbs. of elk through this one and works fine. Easy to clean up with brush that comes with this unit.
This needs better thread, it would make it easier to get together.

for the jerky shooters, and were can I find them?Asked on 1/1/2009 by jcc from aurora colorado1 answer
A:
Gander Mountain sells a 3-pack of nozzles for the #5 meat grinder that fit this jerky gun pretty well. It may be a bit of a tight fit, but, I sanded the edge of the adapter slightly and they fit just fine.Answered on 4/18/2009 by Geoff from Drums, PA
