Comments about Gander Mountain 9" Food Slicer:

A gift for myself to process my game. The first time I used it was to slice up some NY strips, go figure. Works very well, wish it cut a little thicker for steaks but will be excellent for slicing jerky strips.

Comments about Gander Mountain 9" Food Slicer:

I was hesitant to buy because at the time there were no reviews and it seems that a lot of people have issues using various slicers. We found it easy to use, worked great and we sliced over 50 lbs of elk for jerky in one use. We did not have to cool it down. The only thing that would be better is if it was easier to take apart to clean.
            Great slicer

Comments about Gander Mountain 9" Food Slicer:

Bought this on Cyber Monday got a good deal on price. Straight out of box I noticed a rough edge as to how the blade was ground. I also noticed that the blade was not concentric. Seems the hub maynot have been mounted correctly to the blade. The blade was not that sharp, but it did cut the venison. Do semi freeze the meat and slices better. The gap at the bottom could be made smaller so that stuff doesn't fall thru. I have yet to call customer support about the blade issue. Im sure that they will correct it. I was able to slice up 10 lbs of venison for jerky, which works as long as you semi freeze the meat to give it a bit more rigidity. Thickness adjustments is easy and I didn't have any problems cleaning the unit after completion. Once blade issue is resolved (probably with replacement blade)I see no major problems with the unit.
