I accidentally dropped it on the hard basement floor! It got a little ding on the frame, but I took it out the next day and it performed great!

Had I reviewed this reel a year ago when I bought it I would have given it a 5 star rating. After fishing hard with it last summer and starting off this summer with it I can only give it a 3. Would be a good reel for someone who only goes fishing a couple times a month but I fish 4 or 5 times a week and the reel is showing signs of wear. The gears are making noise (yes I do clean and lube my reels) and the breaking system is hit and miss.

Comments about GSX™ Quantum Tournament Baitcast Reel:
At the beginning of the year this reel worked great. I fished almost every day and night I could. I kept it well oiled and lubed up all season long and by the time the cold weather came, the gears were noisy and not smooth at all. Luckily, my one year warranty is still good. I miss the good ole days where a reels gears were not made of nylon.

Comments about GSX™ Quantum Tournament Baitcast Reel:
Good reel for the price. I use it for med and large crank baits. Not as good casting as my Diawa excellars, but not a bad reel. Took a little longer to get it set for distance without backlashing but cast good once set. Good drag. Paired mine with a 7 ft, one piece, med heavy Ugly Stik. Good combo that won't break the bank.

Comments about GSX™ Quantum Tournament Baitcast Reel:
I bought two of these reels. Initially, one was defective and had a bent reel handle and didn't reel smooth at all so I returned it and got the titanium. The second reel I fished with it, and it was very noisy so I cleaned it but still didn't help. If these reels are well maintained you'll get about a years good use out of them. I'd upgrade and get titanium reels instead.
