Not waterproof by any stretch.

This is the best thing to happen for SC owners. I have 4 set ups. Get hundreds of shots with no interference on location. I've monitored deer, bear, Fisher, mink, nesting turkey, hibernating bear, and fox. The best was over 2500 shots (2 months/2 charges) of 2 immature Bald Eagles feeding on beaver carcasses (was trying for coyote...oh well).

To fix the leaking, I use cheap shower caps (I actually found some in camo!!!). End of problem.

If you don't protect it from leaking your battery posts will disolve from galvanic reaction as the case fills up. I fixed 2 of them by soldering new contacts but they never held a full charge again. Do yourself a favor, Buy some shower caps and forget about it.

I bought 2 battry packs for the stealth cam I230IR. I set one camera up in May and the battery lasted 2 months took 2000+ photos. I recharged it and set it up again. It worked great. Lasted 2 months again. I set up my second camera in September. I checked both cameras a month later. Both batteries malfunctioned. The one that was set up in September was plumb full of water and the latch broke when I opened the "water tight" cacse. Each camera only took 30 photos. I dried the battery and recharged both. Set them up again and checked them a week later. Both malfunctioned again. Only got about 30 photos each. Took the batteries home and they tested that they were good. Checked the cameras and they work on c batteries. I researched the problem on line and the operating temp is 32F-100F. The only thing that I can figure is that at night it is starting to dip below 32F and now they are not working.

      This battery has great life takes 1000's of pictures before it needs charged. Then you charge it in your house. It will leak, first rain it filed with water but since you dont have to open it up to charge it, I recomend to put some silicone around the seal and it wont leak.

      We have been using the outdoor cam for sometime and found it to be quite costly with batteries. This year the GSM STEALTH CAM BATTERY PACK has paid for it self in a very short time. We do not have to worry about changing batteries or missing the buck because the batteries were dead. What a convenient device! Highly recommend because the easy of use and set up.

          Yes, but I have been told if there is no sun there is no charging. Cloudy days will not charge your battery. I have a Stealth Cam and I have to admit, I wasted my money and will be buying something different.
