      Early season mallard drakes do not have their winter plummage. Therefore, it makes sense to duplicate the light brown appearance that is evident at this time of the year. These mallard hen decoys do just that. It is nice to have this option!

            These are very good decoys, the paint job is good and they look amazing. But I have a question. Can ducks tell when they are in their full plumage? If not then you would not have any use for them unless you want to add some more hens to your spread.

              They say ultimate realism. Well when was the last time a flock of mallards came in and they were all hens, no drakes. All of the ducks are hens, they put that much effort into creating the decoy but they couldn't make any of the bills yellow.They still will attract the birds but if they are going to say ultimate realism it better be spot on, and it better have at least some drakes in it.
