A water separator is a nessessity with the ethanol based gasoline. All this product does is cover you're butt if you were to get bad gas or if some material were to make it into the fuel line. The product is very easy to mount and use. New cartridges are interchangeable and cost effective. I use my boat daily and would not even consider using it without a water separator. A filter is significantly cheaper then any engine repair...

Purchased this filter for my 17 foot fishing boat to separate out water from fuel. Product installed easily and all parts needed were provided. I even purchased an additional filter for future use. I could not prevent the filter from leaking. I tried a hand tight fit, then gradually increased the tightness without success. I removed the first filter and installed the second filter. Same results. Could not stop the filter from leaking. I would not recommend the purchase of this product.

Does the filter disignate the correct flow for the gas? Which way does it flow? Apparantly this is part of the "question". (Instructions) Also, is this filter appropriate for my boat? It is a 1978 Sanger, with a 427cid engine. The carburator is a 750cfm Demon. Thank You,
