Heavy-duty, but lightweight, its telescopic steel mesh body is dipped in vinyl, giving it a safe barrier to protect bait from injury. Its streamlined torpedo shape offers less resistance in the water, making it ideal for fishing current or calm waters. Its black color blends into natural backgrounds for spook-proof camouflage. Positive spring clip snap locks offer secure closure. Dimensions: 16-1/2" x 8" diameter; two 1" openings.

    The Frabill® Black Minnow Trap was what I expected. I use it in salt water to catch killies for bait. It works as advertised and I caught killies for my fluke fishing. There were only two problems. One being that the two halves don't always align when closing so bait can escape and the other is that in salt water there is some slight rusting (but this would happen with most any brand).     I dropped this trap into a school of minnows. I literally watched the minnows swim in and out of the holes all around the sides. Needs to be a tighter mesh material. I am going to try covering it with some screen material or maybe a pair of pantyhose to help keep the minnows in. In the mean time I am going to buy a net to scoop them up.
