I use this just to carry my rifle from home to the range, for this purpose it is fine. I would not recommend this for any shipping or airline carriers. When closed there is a gap right below the handle that does not close completely, so I would keep it out of the weather elements. However, as a I cheap means of transport via car or walking, it does the job.

    Purchased this case for times when transporting a small (Remington 22 rifle with scope to/from ranges. Well made and fits rifle well. Appears to be solid construction and can be locked , but may require 2 locks to be really secure

          I like it very much, more than I expected. Constructed well, wont take a bulldozer running over it but will take average day to day use and abuse. I was very happy to see 4 holes which will accomodate locks, so 2 locks and yur secure. Id take this case on a plane ride anytime. Seems strong enuff and with a decent locking system available its a winner. For the price makes a great place to store and transport yur rifles or shotguns and if yur so inclined i bet yur handguns too
