I use a Mossberg 500 with a vented cantilever rifled slug barrel w/scope, I switched from the 1 oz. Federal Barnes Expander because I couldn't find them in my area anymore but after I compared the ballistics it was a no brainer (using a 100 yard zero at 200 yards the 1 oz. slug dropped 24" compared to 14" for the 3/4 oz. and the down range energy was significantly better all the way out to 200 yards). They are normally expensive but the [$] price was good and even better Federal has a $5 rebate per box ($10 max rebate). Unfortunately didn't get a chance to take a deer with them this year but if they perform anything like the 1 oz. version I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Comments about Federal Premium Federal Vital-Shok Barnes Expander Tipped Sabot Slug, 12ga, 2-3/4", 3/4 oz.:
Recently purchased a Mossberg 500 with a rifled barrel. Haven't had a chance to shoot these yet but from the research I've done and my experience with other Federal ammunition, I have no doubt that these will perform as expected. Gander Mountain had the best price and free shipping to boot. Thanks so much!

Barnes bullets will no longer be used by Federal. They perform perfect on deer and I am not sure how federal bullets will perform. With that I was glad Gander Mt had a supply to stock up on.

I shoot a 870 with a hastings rifled barrel.Over the period of 20 years I've tried a lot of sabots. Some good, most bad, but these Barnes are very accurate and hit like a rock.Proof is in the freezer!

This year was my first time deer hunting and I shot the first deer I saw using this slug! One shot = one kill. What else would you want from your ammo?!

Hard hitting very accurate slugs for my Beretta Pintail 100 . At 2" group @ 100yards ....
The deer that get hit with these guys don;t go very far ... Shot placement is everything but these slugs work super
