Product Description
With the vast majority of slug hunters using traditional smooth bore rifled slugs, we set out to make the smooth bore slug more effective for the standard slug slinger. The TruBall rifled slug system is the result, and the most consistent group-to-group smooth bore slug on the market. With a simple ball that centers the slug in the barrel, we've reinvented and redefined smooth bore slug technology and expectations. See for yourself with 2" groups at 50-yards. Shipped ground only. |

Comments about Federal Premium® TRUBALL® 12GA Low Recoil Slug:
I wanted some low recoil slugs for some training. This was the least expensive and fastest way to get the rounds. They seem to be more accurate than the issued slugs.

100 yds out of a 870 smooth. Dead on. Recoil a bit heavy for a youth hunter like me.

Comments about Federal Premium® TRUBALL® 12GA Low Recoil Slug:
These are the only slugs I find that smoothly eject from an old Ithaca model 37 Deerslayer. The shells after firing are slightly shorter than the competitors versions of standard rifled slugs for smooth bore guns. The major competitors versions all get jammed 100% of the time. Federals not at all. They're very accurate too. Federal, please don't change the design . I'm sold , they are the only slugs I will buy for now on.

Comments about Federal Premium® TRUBALL® 12GA Low Recoil Slug:
I use the Truball slugs for 3 gun competition. They're accurate and can easily make 80 to 100 yard scored shots. The light recoil helps on quick second shots.

Q:
This isn't a question but a comment, a need to know if you will. As this design qualifies as a multiple projectile design, due to the use of a seperate, completely detached ball, even though it is plastic, If your state does not allow the use of buckshot for hunting or disclaims multiple projectile rounds for hunting, it is unlawful to use this ammo, until such time as it is ruled legal to use.Asked on 3/22/2010 by dragon5126 from Milwaukee,WI1 answer
A:
the ball is plastic, not a buckshot, no different than wad, and certainly not an extra projectileAnswered on 2/18/2012 by gus from chesapeake va
