Been searching for the best ammo for my Heritage Rough Rider. Tried Federal 36 gr HP, CCI Stingers, 40 gr Blazers, and the Federal Spitfires. To date I feel the Spitfires allow me to put it where I want it the most. I believe that to get performance from a pistol barrel you must go faster and lighter i.e. lighter bullet for faster acceleration, hyper velocity for speed. For example, if you want high velocity performance in your pistol then get hyper velocity bullets.

I bought a brick of this in a hurry,for some recreational plinking.(only brick form @Gander)
It, like any other "hyper velocity" .22rf get's its high speed via.the light weight bullet.32gr. as oposed to the standard 40gr. It delivers fair acuracy at ranges under 50 yd's. anything further, it's begins to "kite" off big time! An 18'-20"group at 100yds. can be expected, that's machine rested through a good quality heavy barreled rifle. It's the Dirtyest ammo ive ever fired. 100 rds. made a total mess of my rifle. (unburned powder & carbon)Had to range clean bore & action.And this fed.ammo. wasnt cheep. Ed. Compitition marksman

I bought 6 different brands of ammo to test in my Marlin 925, each brand was of varying velocities and weight. With my rifle barrel broken in and sighted to 50 yards (at 50 yards all ammo was dead on) I went to 100 yards, aimed dead center on my target, and proceeded to fire 5 shot groups. Out of 6 different ammunitions Federal Spitfire preformed the best, with only 2 1/2" of drop at 100 yards. I highly recommend this ammo!
