Tried these out of my Savage Mk.II BV. They did surprisingly well for cheap hyper velocity ammo. My gun prefers the CCI Velociters the best, printing cloverleafs at 50 yards with them. Surprisingly these did almost as good, punching 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards. Sometimes a little less. More Surprisingly, They shot to the same point of impact as the Velociters so there was no need to re-zero my rifle. I like these a lot. I bought a brick of 500. I use these for general shooting and small game hunting since they cost a lot less than the CCI ammo. I save the Velociters for larger game like fox and coyotes. One downside I noticed is they don't buck the wind quite as well as the Velociters, but this was expected due to the lighter weight. Overall for me, these are great little round. As with all 22 ammo, try it in your gun and see how they work, as each gun is different. Shoot safe and have fun.

With this ammunition I was able to produce better groups with my CZ 455 than the factory were at 55 meters. Relatively clean burning; try it in your rifle!

Yes, this would work fine for coyotes.

                A:

It's really too light. I've seen recommendations that your load should have at least 200-300 ft pounds at impact for coyotes. This would make the effective range less than 50 yards for a 17 HMR. At 200 yards, the 17 HMR only has about 75 ft. pounds of energy about the same as a 22LR at the same distance. This gun is best for varmints from about fox size down. If you don't have one, this is a "Giggle" gun. It's amazingly accurate for a factory load with virtually no kick so you can easily follow your shots through a scope. It much cheaper to shoot than a centerfire cartridge. It's about as much fun to shoot as any gun out there out to 200-250 yards.
