Comments about Eureka! Eureka Timberline 4 Backpacking Tent:

I'm always dry in this tent even when everyone else is drying out their sleeping bags the next morning. It takes more stakes to set up properly, and it's advised to add guy lines and 4 additional big stakes like the owner's manual says. A-frame design keep the fly several inches away from the tent, preventing water from coming through in heavy wind and rain (like with most tents). Best tent for the money before you go to a $500 wall tent. Will fit a cot, but all 4 walls slope, so a cot diminishes interior room significantly.

Comments about Eureka! Eureka Timberline 4 Backpacking Tent:

I've had mine for years. Other tents have come and gone, but this one remains. While traveling to Colorado for backback trip, stopped in a crowded Neb. campground for the night. Must have been a tornado came through in the night, or close to. I spent 2 hours in one end of the tent, my fist up in the roof to keep it up. When I rolled out in the morning, the whole campground looked like a nuclear attack. Everyone was gone. Trees were on the ground. Shredded tents everywhere. I got out a hammer, pounded my aluminum poles back into shape, and used the tent in the mountains the next 6 days. Any other type poles would have broke. 20 years and many outings later, it's still usable. When I need a tent to depend on in the wilderness, this is the model I take. I prefer the 2 door model.Great for the price.

Comments about Eureka! Eureka Timberline 4 Backpacking Tent:

We used this tent on a six night San Juan River Canoe Trip in May 2011. We added 4 more tent stakes and some cord (as suggested in the manual) and tent was able to withstand 30 + mpg wind gusts with no problem. Plenty of room inside for 2 people, sleeping bags, dry bags etc. We did not get much rain so we were not able to test the water proofing. I did seal the seams (again as recommended in the manual) and the rain that we did get was no problem. It was easy to put up with two people. And very easy to take down, fold, roll up and stuff into the carry bag. The zippers were somewhat stiff but no failures. Recommended!

Comments about Eureka! Eureka Timberline 4 Backpacking Tent:

I looked into this tent for quite a while comparing it to just about every tent you can think of! I wanted a tent myself, one other, and my dog would fit comfortably in, and save yourself the research because it has proved itself time and time again!! It's light weight and great for backpacking, but also a good size for leisure camping! I am very pleased with this tent!

Maybe. Those 2 cots will take up a lot of room, but the dogs can sleep close to each other. If you can abide having dogs in your tent, I guess this one will suffice.
