Comments about Eureka! Timberline 4 Backpacking Tent:
I've had mine for years. Other tents have come and gone, but this one remains. While traveling to Colorado for backback trip, stopped in a crowded Neb. campground for the night. Must have been a tornado came through in the night, or close to. I spent 2 hours in one end of the tent, my fist up in the roof to keep it up. When I rolled out in the morning, the whole campground looked like a nuclear attack. Everyone was gone. Trees were on the ground. Shredded tents everywhere. I got out a hammer, pounded my aluminum poles back into shape, and used the tent in the mountains the next 6 days. Any other type poles would have broke. 20 years and many outings later, it's still usable. When I need a tent to depend on in the wilderness, this is the model I take. I prefer the 2 door model.Great for the price.

Comments about Eureka! Timberline 4 Backpacking Tent:
We used this tent on a six night San Juan River Canoe Trip in May 2011. We added 4 more tent stakes and some cord (as suggested in the manual) and tent was able to withstand 30 + mpg wind gusts with no problem. Plenty of room inside for 2 people, sleeping bags, dry bags etc. We did not get much rain so we were not able to test the water proofing. I did seal the seams (again as recommended in the manual) and the rain that we did get was no problem. It was easy to put up with two people. And very easy to take down, fold, roll up and stuff into the carry bag. The zippers were somewhat stiff but no failures. Recommended!

Comments about Eureka! Timberline 4 Backpacking Tent:
My parents were given this tent as a wedding gift 26 years ago!
This is still the only tent that they own!
The walls have started to cave more and more each year from stretching from heavy use. This might also be the cause of condensation on the walls in the morning as well.
Otherwise great tent!

Comments about Eureka! Timberline 4 Backpacking Tent:
I looked into this tent for quite a while comparing it to just about every tent you can think of! I wanted a tent myself, one other, and my dog would fit comfortably in, and save yourself the research because it has proved itself time and time again!! It's light weight and great for backpacking, but also a good size for leisure camping! I am very pleased with this tent!

Comments about Eureka! Timberline 4 Backpacking Tent:
I purchased this tent in the 80's, from mountaineering to nights on the beach this tent always came through. It's not rated a four season tent but have used it that way. Make sure to occassionally seam seal and you'll be more then happy with this tent. Loaned my old reliable a while back and never got it back, so I'm ordering a new one.

Maybe. Those 2 cots will take up a lot of room, but the dogs can sleep close to each other. If you can abide having dogs in your tent, I guess this one will suffice.Answered on 8/28/2009 by Jack Chiles from Houston, Texas
