I received my Eskimo Mako 8" auger last January for my birthday from my wife. I have used it quit a bit since getting it and it has worked flawlessly. It starts great, runs great, and has plenty of power for drilling thru the ice. I was impressed with the quality and the price is great which makes it a great value.

My buddy and I have used my 8 inch Mako for 5 years and we love it... It has always started easily, ran smoothly and cut holes in a hurry...
The blades are dull now after cutting a few hundred holes and I am having a tough time finding the proper replacements...

I bought this after looking long and hard at others, including Jiffy and Strikemaster. I went for the Eskimo because it offered a larger engine at a lower price - and boy am I happy I went with it.
It starts up easily and runs great, quickly cutting all the way through the ice in one motion. Never bogs down for me. The other day I was out fishing, and the guy next to me with a Strikemaster Mag2000 was getting bogged down, while I was cutting all the way through with ease. Made me feel great!

Very easy to use started on the second pull each time. After about 30 holes it bogged down and wouldnt start was leaking gas had to send it back for a new one. Was happy with the results when I was using it. Not as powerful as a Jiffy and heavier then a Jiffy. Hopefully the new one dosent break down on the first use.
