Would not transfer gas from boat to container which was about 15" above the fuel tank. Then tried with water and worked ok until I started to raise the pump. As I raised it, it slowed and finally stopped pumping water once I got above 15". Went out and bought a Jabsco, which is twice as wide, and worked like a charm.

    Comments about Sta-Rite Drill Pump:

It is okay for use once or twice for very small fluid transfers. Use with an electric powered drill, not a battery as it takes a long time

        Comments about Sta-Rite Drill Pump:

I used it to pump the water out of my pond. I had plenty of time, and used it only to fill the outlet hose so that I could siphon the rest.
My recommendation is not to use a battery powered drill if you will be pumping for more than 5 minutes. Best used for small jobs or as a primer for siphoning operation.

Used to change the oil in my boat. Tube did not seal correctly losing the little vacuum it generates. Impeller shredded the second time I tried to use it. Buy a better brand

Sure just be sure to clean it before you drain a different type of fluid.

The instructions say clearly NOT to use with any flammable liquid.
