      I used the 8" fenders tied up to a friend as a storm blew in with high winds and those fenders never let our boats touch each other ,even throw we drifted for while they never failed .

          The brackets that mount this to your rails are very flimsy. Mine has already bent after just 2 weeks use. The washers supplied with the unit are so small they slip right through the slots in the bracket and allow the nut which holds it on to go through also. I had to purchase additional nuts and larger washers and sandwich the bracket between them to correct the problem. Lock nuts should be supplied not just plain nuts. Also, the small #8 screw thread is too flimsy. I doubt these will make it through the season. Save your money and buy something more substantial.

          Easy to install, the directions are just OK. I would like the mounting hardware to be improved; I added two extra washers and a rectangular strap to increase the mounting hardware strength.

            Best price I could find on a dual fender holder. It performs as described, but I was dissapointed with the hardware provided. I had to purchase additional washers in order to make the item tight and usable. Poor outcome for the consumer.

                There may be more risk of them bouncing out in rough water, but where you mount this is up to you and what works best for you and your boat.
