I was not sure how easily it would install but I was very pleased with how simple it was. I read some of the other reviews about the holes not lining up correctly on the mounting braces and how the quick release attachment was loose and unstable, thus I was skeptical. Sure glad I pushed on and bought it because I had absolutely no problem with any of them. Everyone appreciates the extra wide steps as well since it is easier on the feet. Excellent product!!

As soon as this product was taken out of the box, the ladder would not slide up and down. The side clamps were installed too narrowly, or bent. Thus we had to strap it to a sea clamp and force the clamps open to allow the ladder to slide up and down. After installing the ladder, the cable that secures the ladder to the dock came lose. The only way to re-attach this cable properly is by removing the entire ladder from the dock. There has to be a better product for the price I paid.

Comments about Dockmate Wide Step Dock Lift Ladder, 5-Step:

We needed a ladder to help us and our visitors to our Lake Erie home climb over a seawall, giving them access to the lake for swimming or fishing. Although this ladder was designed for water craft use, it fit our puroposes perfectly. Thanks!!!

I live on Blind Pass, Captiva, FL, and the tide RIPS through the channel, so it is GREAT to have a ladder that easily comes up out of the water. Plus, when a hurricane comes, it will be EASY to disconnect this fine quality ladder from the dock.
