Product DescriptionDockmate Mooring Whips are an excellent way to protect your boat or watercraft from damage caused by wind or high wake. These whips provide a "safety zone" between dock and boat with a unique "spring action" that keeps your boat away from the dock. The large diameter solid fiberglass rods are wrapped with cross-wound layers of fiber for superior strength and flexibility. A functional roller tip on the whip in addition to a unique tensioner allow easy one-hand operation.
Dockmate Ultimate Whips offer a "plug and socket" design that allows quick and easy separation of the two halves for storage. Ultimate Whips also feature the unique rocker base. These aluminum adjustable bases incorporate a rubber shock absorber into their design for a greater range of movement. When tension is released, the whips will retract into a vertical position, eliminating the need to remove them in order to clear masts, fly bridges, or wake towers.
All Dockmate Mooring Whips come as a pair with all necessary lines and hardware to complete installation. Note that some docking conditions may be too rough for this type of system. 4-year warranty.

Q:All the pictures show the whips attached to stationary docks. I have a 21 ft Malibu, a floating dock and fairly substantial boat wake traffic. Are there any issues using this mooring whip system I should be aware of?Asked on 7/26/2009 by Clint from Anniston, AL
A:Yes you should definately consider a different mooring system if you have steady wake traffic and if you do not have a stationary dock. These will hold boats away from docks as long as there is not a lot of movement from the boat. Constant wake waves though will cause the boat to constantly rock back and forth which can weaken the whips over time. In short I would recommend considering stow-away hold-aways or wake watchers mooring systems which are similar to the whips just not as tall.Answered on 11/11/2009 by OVERTON'S from TECHNICIAN
Q:I have a Malibu 25 ft not sure of weight..I am considering getting the 20,000 pound (Largest) Can you get whips that are to big/heavy duty?Asked on 5/26/2009 by Anonymous
A:I don't think there is any downside other than they may flex less which may cause the boat to be little harder to pull toward the dock.Answered on 5/27/2009 by Michael from Overtons
