Used in Florida where typical tides are only about 4-5 feet. More corrision resistant and stronger lag bolts and washers are needed for installation of this product. I predrilled my pilings before installing the bumpers and still broke two lag bolts. The bumpers themselves are doing a terrific job. They protect the boat and dock, are wearing well, and are not gumming up.

Comments about Dockmate Piling Post Bumper:
Two of these piling post bumpers were purchased in hopes of preventing the boat from getting damaged when fluctuating water levels and choppy conditions force the boat beneath the dock. Right now there are no posts, but we do plan on buying some PVC piping to slide through this bumper for added strength. The installation was not as smooth as the corner bumpers because the screw holes are unnecessarily angled. Overall, I am pleased with the appearance and quality.

Q:
what diameter of post is required.Asked on 4/26/2010 by Anonymous1 answer
A:
The inside radius is designed to fit 6" to 12" diameter piling.Answered on 5/10/2010 by Michael from Overton's
Q:
Will these mount to 4" x 4" square dock posts ?Asked on 4/6/2010 by Michelle from Cleveland OHIO1 answer
A:
I would not recommend these for a 4"X4" square post since the width of the bumper is 6" and the mounting holes are on the outer edge of the bumper.
You should consider item 73358 for a square post. The mounting holes are in the center and the back side will rest flat against the square post.Answered on 4/23/2010 by Michael from Overton's
