Product Description
dockmate Enjoy much more convenient access to your boat when it's in the boat slip or on the boat lift. This satin anodized aluminum folding platform easily bolts to your dock with a tough hinged mounting plate. The included 1-3/4" dia. handrail is easily added and removed with set screws. A reflective strip down the side increases nighttime visibility. Textured tread plate resists slipping, while serrated inner surface on the handrail delivers a sure grip. Mounting plate is 18"W x 8"L with 7-1/2" center-to-center mounting holes. Platform measures 24"W x 20"L. Handrail measure 36"H x 15-3/4"W. 400-lb. capacity.

    This was a great idea and we get compliments all the time. No one asks any more "how do I get on the boat". The only problems are the construction. The top bolts are set a bit down from the upper edg and as such the ramp being aluminum bent. This was easy to fit by added a cold rolled steel plate across the top 3 inches and through bolting to the dock. Now that it is rigid.... The hinge pin bolts have bent! Nice idea but does not handle a 200 pound person.

    Installing this to the existing doc was a breeze, 6 1.5" lag screws and in about 15 minutes we were using it. In our application we back our cruiser into our slip and before installing this platform we had to step from the dock down to the swimplatform then step back up into the boat all in a very confined space, making for a very awkward and dangerous situation especially for guests that were unfamiliar with the process or if mobility was hampered in any way. Now that we added this platform, just walk across and step right into the cockpit, very safe and easy. My wife thinks it is the best upgrade we have done at the docks. It is super sturdy and I have had a 300# guy walking on it and still it's as solid as the dock. We were the first to install one, but now everyone is ordering them.

      The installation and proper use requires a solid face on the dock. Not specified in the catalog. We have to box-out the face of the dock where this was to be mounted otherwise there is no support as the edge of the platform comes down. I probably would not have purchased this item if I knew that requirement in advance. I spent another $100 on lumber and hardware and it took four hours to build-out and install. A lot of additional expense and work!

        We purchased this so I could get on and off our boat easier and I have to say this platform is wonderful! It shipped quickly and was very easy to install once we went out and purchased the hardware to install it. I like that it folds out of the way and that there is a hand rail. It makes getting on and off the boat incredibly easy. If you need a platform, this is the one to buy!

            Installed on an aluminum railed dock, and was very unstable. Once I put a 2x6 behind it, and gave the platform something stable to rest on, it works well. For the price, I would have expected some directions and stainless steel hardware to be included. But product performs well once I got it figured out.
