I have used the hand rail to assist in exiting a swimming pool. I placed it on the deck by the steps leading from the pool, and the extension is of great assistance.

Looks like it belongs on a pool deck.
However, it makes getting in and out of my 18' jon boat from my dock super easy and not as fear inspiring as without it!

The first order was missing hardware and had obviously been returned by someone. It was disappointing that quality control did not pick up on this. Customer service saved the future of my ordering from Overton's as a replacement arrived within 3 days.

We installed the handrails to our swimming pool and spa. My husband did it himself with a special drill in less than a couple of hours. We feel alot safer getting in the pool and spa now. We are retired and now I feel we will use the pool and spa more now.

Before I got the Extended Reach by Dockmate, I fell into the lake two to three times a week.

At age 69, I have unstable knees, bad vision, and poor balance, I found boarding my water craft to be problematic.

After I received the Extended Reach, we haven't had to call 911 even once, and I no longer tie my ankle to the dock while boarding!

I recommend this device to all partially blind, physically handicapped, watercraft operators, especially those subject to vertigo, syncope, and temporary blackouts.

The product is advertised for use with docks. I used it for our inground pool. My wife had knee surgery, had been expeirencing problems getting in and out of pool, requirning assittance from someone else. Now no longer in need of assittance, she can get in and out of pool all by herself. We are extremely happy for this product, its durability, and its construction. One thin I would add however. A cover of some sort to place over the base were the bolts come up off the base, this could be a hazard for unprotected feet.
