A:8 heavy duty lag bolts (4 for each flange). I positioned the flanges so that they centered on a 2"x 10" treated deck board on my dock, then drilled a pilot hole for each bolt and screwed in the bolts. Installation took about a half-hour and I work slowly.Answered on 8/11/2011 by Cutter from Lake Marion, SC
