Comments about Dockmate Deluxe Mooring Whips, 14':
The whips were easy to install, although the instructions on how to use the cleats on the base and pole were a little light on substance. Nevertheless, it didn't take long to figure out how to make them work, and they work well. My boat has remained away from the dock, bobs on the waves rolling by, and stays in relatively the same position. So far, so good, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their boat secure and near the dock without relying on bumpers.

Comments about Dockmate Deluxe Mooring Whips, 14':
I live on a small river with a lot of weekend boat traffic. The whips keep my 21 footer off of the dock just fine. I'm not the best boat captain so the 14 footers give me clearance when pulling the boat into dock. I don't have to worry about ramming into them. Install was easy once I decided where to put the whips. Optional bolt hardware and longer ropes are my only recommendations, though the current setup is working just fine.

Comments about Dockmate Deluxe Mooring Whips, 14':
Product works great. We were a little skeptical about using these whips at first. After having used them, I can't believe we waited so long to finally get a set. Considering purchasing a another set for another boat.

Comments about Dockmate Deluxe Mooring Whips, 14':
The mooring whips were the right length for mooring jetskis to the back of a houseboat. Allows for swimming while maintaining distance from the boat.

Q:
I have a 22' pontoon boat. Is a pole for 23' boats good or do pontoon boats need stronger poles? Thank you.Asked on 5/20/2009 by Anonymous2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
I would use a combination of the length and weight of the boat to determine the correct size. You can probably use either 74607 or 74609 but double check your weight of the boat and motor to make sure.
Keep in mind that some docking conditions may be too rough for a whip type of mooring system.Answered on 5/26/2009 by Michael from OvertonsVERIFIED BUYER

Use the recommended size provided in the catalogue and you will have years of service. This is the second set added to our current dock configuration with one watercraft 22'ft. and the second 26'ft.Answered on 6/29/2009 by Mike the Financial Planner from Chiopee, MA, using product in NH.
