Product Description
dockmate Dockmate Mooring Whips are an excellent way to protect your boat or watercraft from damage caused by wind or high wake. These whips provide a "safety zone" between dock and boat with a unique "spring action" that keeps your boat away from the dock. The large diameter solid fiberglass rods are wrapped with cross-wound layers of fiber for superior strength and flexibility. The durable solid cast-aluminum base has a molded-in cleat and ring to easily fasten your lines. A functional roller tip on the whip in addition to a unique tensioner allow easy one-hand operation. Deluxe 14' Whips offer a "plug and play" design for quick and easy separation of the two whip halves for storage. All Dockmate Mooring Whips come as a pair with all necessary lines and hardware to complete installation. Note that some docking conditions may be too rough for this type of system. 3-year warranty.

Acquired mooring whips for tour boat moored to a dock. Previous boat and dock were badly damaged by waves pounding boat into the dock. New boat-- couldn't ake a chance it might get damaged. Works perfectly except the mount needs to be checked frequently as it comes loose from the dock mount on EZ dock systems.

Comments about Dockmate Deluxe Mooring Whips, 14':

I've been boating on the connecticut river for over 20 yrs, I've had many boats since,,, this past year i relocated to a new marina, however it's NOT in a no wake zone... there are about 10 boats here and through there experience they all use the overtons 10k boat whips, after having the boat on the river on a busy weekend, I sooned realized that my boat was getting slammed by huge boat wakes. I then took there advice installed them, which wasn't hard at all, and am now at ease.I've hooked them up and then watched as the cruiser waves hit, and it handled with no promblem. a great insurance policy!!! money well spent!!

This is the best product you will ever purchase to protect your investment. I have only used this product for two weeks and I love them. My boat never gets close to my dock even on busy weekends and I have a 24 foot deckboat. Awesome product!

Comments about Dockmate Deluxe Mooring Whips, 14':

The whips were easy to install, although the instructions on how to use the cleats on the base and pole were a little light on substance. Nevertheless, it didn't take long to figure out how to make them work, and they work well. My boat has remained away from the dock, bobs on the waves rolling by, and stays in relatively the same position. So far, so good, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their boat secure and near the dock without relying on bumpers.

Comments about Dockmate Deluxe Mooring Whips, 14':

I live on a small river with a lot of weekend boat traffic. The whips keep my 21 footer off of the dock just fine. I'm not the best boat captain so the 14 footers give me clearance when pulling the boat into dock. I don't have to worry about ramming into them. Install was easy once I decided where to put the whips. Optional bolt hardware and longer ropes are my only recommendations, though the current setup is working just fine.

I have a 22' pontoon boat. Is a pole for 23' boats good or do pontoon boats need stronger poles? Thank you.

                A:

I would use a combination of the length and weight of the boat to determine the correct size. You can probably use either 74607 or 74609 but double check your weight of the boat and motor to make sure.

Keep in mind that some docking conditions may be too rough for a whip type of mooring system.

Use the recommended size provided in the catalogue and you will have years of service. This is the second set added to our current dock configuration with one watercraft 22'ft. and the second 26'ft.
